What do you really pack for safari?

The packing list we send our guests, with the three things almost everyone forgets.

On domestic flights your bag usually cannot weigh more than 15 kilos, and a soft bag is easier than a hard case. Beyond that, the list is shorter than you think.

The three things everyone forgets

  • A fleece or thick jumper — it is ten degrees on the crater rim
  • A cloth for your camera, because everything turns red with dust
  • Cash in small notes for tips

What you do not need to bring: a mosquito net (there is one already), water bottles (they are in the car) and camouflage clothing. Neutral colours are enough; in Tanzania camouflage is actually illegal for civilians.

Why we do not resell safaris

Plenty of operators book your trip with a local company and add a margin. We do it ourselves. That is more expensive to set up and cheaper for you.
